By Batool Bader
Oh ocean,
take me in
and drown me deep.
Let’s leave behind
what had me weep.
–
Let me forget the past I’ve lived.
Release my soul
from the memories,
and wash away all the pain,
all the grief and misery.
–
And whisper to me in the night,
tales of hope
and the promised sun.
Tales that make me believe
that the best is yet to come.
